International
Video Standard Conversions:
NTSC, Pal, Secam
The United States, Canada, Mexico and Japan along with other countries use
the NTSC television standard.
However, NTSC is not the only television standard in the world.
Fifty other countries use a standard called PAL and another twenty five
use a standard called SECAM. All of these standards are
incompatible. If you send or receive videotapes to or from other
countries, the video signal must be changed to the standard of the
country that is viewing the tape. AVS enables you to convert your
videotape to or from any International Video Standard.
Macrovision®
AntiCopy Protection:
Macrovision®
is a technology
that prevents illegal pirating of video programs. When added to you
videotapes, Macrovision®
exploits differences in the way television and
videocassette recorders respond to video signals. It adds electronic
signals to the vertical blanking intervals which confuses the recording
VCR automatic gain control. AVS plants are licensed duplicators for
Macrovision®.
The Macrovision® videocassette anticopy process is the most effective and
widely used technology for preventing "back-to-back" copying of
videos using two VCRs. The technology is applied to over 550 million
videocassettes annually and is used by every MPAA movie studio on some or
all of their videocassette releases.
